Wooden balls are faszinating - and - the like to roll as much as they can. With KuKo we invented a pedagogical toy concept, where the ball is the central element.
Suddenly the ball becomes a construction tool or is used as a token in a game.
With the rings the balls becomes stackable, with the bars it is possible to build high structures. The clou is: all parts are harmonized so that they offer a lot of playing possibilitys.

Playing is learning, that is our approach in our self-developed books. The books are a supplement to our educational play concept 'KuKo' and offer a variaty of play ideas and applications. They are meant to be a source of inspiration and help to integrate our play concept into the everyday life of public institutions like daycare centers and kindergartens. We don't want to explain playing to the child, but much more to present and bring closer the pedagogical benefits of our play concept. Because as already mentioned, playing is learning.

I create the world the way I like it. With KuKo Mechanik, the child becomes the designer of his or her own world. Structures, buildings, vehicles or physical mechanisms can be built and explored. Child-friendly tools and building materials are provided for the realization of the project. The creator can now discover and explore the world of three-dimensional building with imagination and dexterity. All existing KuKo elements can be combined with KuKo mechanics and can be integrated into the game with great variety.

Learning how to go from walking to riding a vehicle has always been a fascinating step in a child’s developmental process and one that should not be missed. Bikez Minis is a range of vehicles especially created by Olifu for children under 3 to be used in pedagogical institutions such as kindergartens and pre-schools. Because of their unique stability these bikes serve as reliable vehicles being used by many children day after day.

A small detail sets our Sandsieve apart from most others. The four legs not only give it the apperance of a small turtle, they also make it possible to use it when it's standing on the ground. It fits perfectly ontop olifu's Sand Bucket and of course it is stackable.

For the sake of the form, we would like to introduce you to Puzzeli. Puzzeli is a shape game, a construction toy and a puzzle at the same time. The design is based on three basic shapes, the triangle, the semicircle and the square. These can be found in the colorfully painted wooden building blocks. When the basic shapes are combined with each other, 6 more shapes are created, which are neutral building blocks. These are made of a composite material. Thanks to the variety of shapes and simplicity the product can create landscapes, figures and different formations. In addition to free building, Puzzeli also becomes a puzzle game using the specially developed cubes.

Put them in a line, pile them up or arrange them, as you like. We’ve created the perfect pyramid shaped plates and frames for our concept cubes. Tidying becomes a fun activity that even the smallest explorer can master. Whether it’s putting together colourful patterns, numbers, calculations, just words or whole sentences, our range of cubes offer many possibilities.

As all the elements are compatible with each other they can be used to create whole buildings and constructions.

The cuttings of the Pyramid are creating the basis for many new constructions. That’s the idea behind the Gigantic Pyramid. All the simple shapes of the pyramid are always in relation to one another making new aesthetic and figural constructions possible. The untreated and stained Beechwood resonates a warm yet timeless feel.

By developing and designing a story book as well as a play and work book containing a great amount of games and a CD we made Leni, Edgar and Frieda the best friends. Not only to each other, but also for yout child.

The perfect extension for Bambula and Bau Dir Was game concepts of olifu GmbH to broaden the possibilities of constructing with these games. Wether it's flat geometric compositions like mandalas or architectural pieces of art, these five little clips expand the fun in many directions.

The initial thought behind Kadoki has been inspired by the idea that children are collecting and gathering their own construction materials. Usually kids go to the woods, collecting sticks and branches, transforming them into a secretive den with the help of fabrics and blankets. This simple click-in-system allows children to connect the different parts easily with one another, discovering the properties of static loading while the attached blanket, decorated with colourful strings, helps to transform the construction into the ultimate cosy den.

Barcodes and barcode readers play an essential role when it comes to processing and controlling complex data systems. This simple fact led to the development of a small and most importantly handy barcode scanner. The scanner transmits the information directly to another handheld device, such as a smart phone and therefore doesn’t need a display. This work has been developed during a 6-month work experience in Tokyo and was awarded the Good Design Award Japan 2009.

The Otoscope by Orlvision is a camera used by otologists for special medical examinations of the patient’s ears. The Otoscope stand provides excellent support and therefore easy handling. The Otoscope stand has been designed to be able to use on horizontal as well as vertical surfaces.

Design and Visualization 

RIA - This stands for "wheelchair for inside and outside". Under this working title, a concept was developed that combines the advantages of both areas. Inside short, high and maneuverable. Outside low, long and fast. This transformation, combined with a sophisticated lever drive and tilt steering, forms the core of the development process. Shown is the functional prototype, which concentrates separately on the lever drive with transmission gear.

This is a unique towing vehicle within the group of open, electric-powered single-passenger vehicles. A new vehicle has been created, while integrating individual elements of the previous model. We have developed a new technical design solution for the drive, the chassis and the housing. We also integrated a sophisticated stand, which can be synchronously folded out and in by an ingenious mechanism. Teamwork with FID.

Lamp L4 - for the bright moments in life. This product is a kit for a modern sustainable lampshade. Its individual parts are punched out of cardboard panels and are waiting to be assembled by enthusiastic hobbyists. The lamp comes in two different color options. For people who like it rustic and natural, in brown and for the people who like it bright and elegant, in white. So the only question that remains is, "Team rustic or team elegant?"

This bird feeder transforms a bird’s worst enemy into a welcoming space for a picnic. Simba is made from curved stainless steel and consists of two parts. Two hooks provide space for two fat balls lending the cat its eyes. Simba has been produced as a limited edition of 500 pieces and has been sold worldwide.

Hit the park and just get comfortable. Pneu is an inflatable and waterproof bag that can be converted into a comfortable seat pad. This technology is made possible by the airproof zipper and an ordinary valve. The idea was born during a competition held by the Hessian Agency (Hessenagentur) and awarded first prize.

Once a flat material has been folded it might not just become a three-dimensional shape, but its stability is increased remarkably.

The concept behind the foldable bike helmet Ka-Bu-To has been developed based on this fact. The inflatable cushions are automatically filled with air once the helmet is being brought into shape. The helmet provides sufficient air ventilation so you stay cool while riding through busy traffic.

Ka-Bu-To is Japanese and refers to the protective shield of the stag beetle as well as the traditional combat headgear worn by Samurais.

The slide board is designed to simplify the transfer from the wheelchair. Our design ensures the safest grip while transferring. The straight shape and curved edges provide safety and comfort, and the plywood provides the required strength. In addition to function, we also paid attention to the appearance. The slide board is available in 5 different prints, so a simple slide board becomes an expression of individuality.

Our new exhibit manipulates light to make hidden structures in transparent plastic objects visible in color.

Behind this magical performance, is a purely analog device, which we have implemented entirely from recycled materials.

Through our many years of experience in toy design, as well as our love of phenomena, we know how to arouse interest in young and old. unser Leuchten Generator lässt einen seine eigene Leuchte durch einen Mischpult selbst in der Dimensionierung mischen. Hier verbinden sich haptische Sinne mit der digitalen Welt der Gestaltung. Auf einem Screen wird einem in Echtzeit die gemischte Leuchten Version angezeigt und als Schnittmuster über einen Beamer ausgegeben. Los geht es mit dem zusammenbauen.

Mobility is the motto. And that is exactly what the "market stall" offers. Not only fresh fruit and vegetables should find their way onto the display here, but much more fresh and innovative exhibits and play materials. The "market stall" quickly generates a presentation area, a table for small and big or simply a table on which to tinker and play. Therefore, space is created in the "outside"! Thanks to the construction, consisting of wooden ledges, joints and a wooden plate, easy assembly and disassembly is guaranteed. The fabric roof also provides shade on sunny days to keep a cool head.
